Why ImBuyingThis exists

The internet is very good at showing you products and very bad at telling you which ones matter. ImBuyingThis is a small, opinionated answer to that: a weekly editorial drop of exactly five products, chosen by humans, explained honestly, and shared because they made us react — not because an algorithm predicted a click.

What qualifies a product

A product makes the list by doing at least one of these things exceptionally:

• Solves a real annoyance you'd stopped noticing
• Looks exceptionally good doing its job
• Does something unexpectedly clever
• Makes an excellent gift
• Creates an immediate emotional reaction
• Demonstrates brilliantly in a 15-second video
• Is unusually fun or memorable

How products are researched

We start from what a product claims, then pressure-test it against owner feedback, spec sheets, teardown coverage and category expertise. Unless a page explicitly says otherwise, we have not personally tested the product — our job is curation and honest synthesis, and we say so plainly rather than inventing hands-on stories.

How the money works

When you buy through our links, Amazon pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Commission rates never decide inclusion: products are chosen first, links are added second. Some featured products earn us nothing at all.

Verification and corrections

Prices change constantly, so we only show a price alongside the date we verified it — and when we can't verify, we say “check the current price” instead of guessing. Spot an error? Tell us via the contact page and we'll correct the page and note the change.

Sponsorship

We currently accept no sponsored placements. If that ever changes, sponsored items will be labeled clearly on the product card, the product page, and anywhere else they appear. A drop slot will never be quietly for sale.
